Shop finds

Hi friends, I’ve decided to keep with the theme of what is going to go into my new space at The Brick Basement. When you rent a dealer space it doesn’t come with all of the cool display cabinets you usually see. You provide all of your own fixtures, lighting, etc. So here is a new piece I scored this last weekend that I will paint and distress for the new space in November at The Brick Basement.

up close of detail across the top…too sweet♥

Of course I’m thinking I’ll paint it white and distress it, but I’m open to suggestions. What color would you like to see?

I’m linking this post to Rhoda at  Southern Hospitality

Are you thinking about Christmas yet? I know it sounds strange when we haven’t even had Halloween. Yet all throughout blog land everyone is talking about Christmas and how they’ve already finished all of their Christmas shopping! Sheesh! Not me, not here, never happens. I usually procrastinate til’ the almost last minute. My hubby waits until the VERY last minute – we’re talking Christmas Eve!

Anyway my mom and I have been working on Christmas stockings. Let me tell you they’re pretty cute. I put a few in the shop yesterday to see how they do. I have a feeling they will sell pretty quick so we’re already working on more. Here’s a looksie at how they turned out.

All muslin, crown detail, weird angle it doesn’t really look like this  funny shape
Again weird angle, I can photograph jewelry much better!

Even if you already have family stockings they are fancy enough to hang around just for decoration! I love love them. FYI I did not sew them, I’m not the sewer in this family my mom is. She has been sewing since I was a little girl. Thanks mom for all of your hard work. These are just a few we have for sale, there are other colors and styles available too. You’ll have to go to the shop to check ’em out!

A lot of you will remember a post I did a long time ago when I was frustratingly trying to paint an old cast-off utility wardrobe. Well I finished it and I loved it and it sold in uber fast antique dealer time!!!  yay!!

Home Streeetttchhhh

Ok people I’m in the home stretch. The return to school, not home everyday, wanting me to spend large amounts of money on them, kid back to school home stretch! Now I adore my kids like nobodys business. They are the light of my day, loves of my life, yada yada yada….but it’s been 3 long months. I’m looking forward to lazy days on the couch, watching soap operas and eating bon bons with no interruptions…seriously if you know me you know I don’t do this ( well only certain days of the month). I’ve got labor day weekend and then they’re back. Gotta love it. Look for lots more blog postings about furniture re-do’s, design, decorating and my dealer space at The Brick Basement. Oh and I bought a paint sprayer – insert the heavens opening and sun shining through with angels singing here. So I will have lots to tell you about this new love of my life.

Cheers and blessings,

Lisa xoxo
